I have found if you can establish a variety of favorite dishes that are easy and nourishing........and then continue to add to it when you get the desire to change up the menu.......Keeps the family excited to come to the table.
It's like the old saying goes; "Variety is the spice of life." I also think having a variety makes it so more nutrients will make their way are rotate through your families meals all while not becoming bored with the same old thing!
My biggest problem is that the desire for trying new things always seems to hit me at holidays. So I end up trying new things for our holiday meals (which can sometimes be stressful if they don't turn out). Every time I try a new thing during celebration time that isn't perfected and doesn't turn out so great I tell Ryan to remind me next time not to try new dishes for celebrations.
Remind me he does but I can't seem to help myself! I have been thinking about our Christmas menu and I'm pretty sure there is going to be at least one new dish for our Christmas dinner. I have learned though to be able to tell if something is going to take trial and error or if I can probably get it right the first time. So wish me luck!
