Pineapple Orange Green Smoothie

I noticed that I have made this particular smoothie blend a lot this past month and it has for sure been a favorite this week so I thought I would share.

Pineapple Orange Green Smoothie
2 cups water
4-6 oranges with peels cut off
2 handfuls spinach
1 leaf kale (optional)
1 apple (optional)
1/2 frozen banana
1 cup frozen peaches
2 cups frozen pineapple
20 drops liquid vanilla Stevia (optional)
1 teaspoon Bee Pollen (opt. I have been adding since allergy season is quickly approaching)
1 teaspoon Maca (optional)

Blend first five ingredients until nice and smooth in very large blender. (If you don't have a 3 quart blender jar you may want to half the recipe)  Add the rest of the ingredients blend again until smooth.

What favorite smoothie combinations do you find regularly in your blender?

  1. Tammie- I would like to tell you how positive your blog has been for me the past few weeks. I didn't realize until I read your story that I had a sugar addiction...I just always called it a sweet tooth! Staying away from snacking on unhealthy foods has always been a challenge and I'd been trying to lose weight for the past year and a half, but have not had any success until now. I would feel deprived and would mess up on my "eating plan" every other day. Anyway, after reading your story, I decided to just let go of sugar and artificial sweeteners (and stay away from high fructose corn syrup...who knew?!). I watched "Hungry for Change" and was convinced to just try to eat foods as fresh as possible. Now I've been having a quart of green smoothie every morning for breakfast and I don't feel hungry until it's about time for lunch! Then I've been having a hearty tomato, spinach, and sometimes avocado (yum!) sandwich (Dave's Killer Bread from WINCO is THE BEST!) for lunch. My sandwich is soooo delicious that I don't even want anything else! I don't feel hungry again until it's just about time for me to start making dinner and then I feel like making something fresh, light, and healthy! I've been making salads and veggie trays for dinner and cooking just a little bit of something simple for my children. Wouldn't you know it, I've gone down about 7 lbs already and I haven't been wanting any sugar at all! As added bonuses, I have plenty of energy throughout the day and my acne is nearly all gone! I am so excited to have discovered (thanks to you) that it's not so hard to eat healthy and become healthier! One more thing, this weekend I made our traditional "Conference Crepes" with whole wheat flour and no one complained, not even my very "particular" (AKA picky) tween! Thanks for sharing your healthy ways and encouraging others to make the transition! I'm so excited about eating well and feeling good! :)
