I only remember having strep throat once in my life but oh my I will never forget it. It wasn't too long after we started out on our health journey. I had recently signed up for the School of Natural Healing Courses and had done quite a few of the assignments. I had never had such a sore throat in my life I did all the usual things plenty of water, Orange juice, etc. but it didn't help a bit. After a day or two, wondering what the heck was going on and what I was going to do to get rid of this awful sore throat, I noticed that I had white spots on the back of my throat. I realized that it was a tell tale sign of strep throat, I also knew that strep throat wasn't something that you messed around with and that it didn't just eventually got better like most sore throats. It needed strong treatment! So what did I do? I of course called my Mom.
She had recently borrowed a few of my School of Natural Healing Videos and I told her I thought I remembered David Christopher teaching about what can take care of strep throat in about 24 hours. She found the video where he talked about it and gave the recipe below. I of course had all of the simple ingredients and so I made some up and took it faithfully. My strep throat had gotten pretty bad so it did take a couple days of taking the hot honey (what we affectionately started calling it) before my throat was completely better. But I got better, just from simple ingredients I had in my pantry. I didn't need antibiotics and when the kids started complaining of a sore throat I immediately started giving them some and it nipped it in the bud. It didn't get near as bad as mine did and they were better within 24 hours. Since then we haven't ever had strep throat again but we have used the Hot Honey recipe for other things. When the kids were younger and couldn't swallow capsules I would make up a less potent version when they got a really tough bug they liked the sweet taste and would usually take some and every time it helped to get rid of the bug. Note that I have heard raw honey can be given to children under one year old but even though I used raw honey I stilled didn't give this to my babies under one. After they were one I didn't think twice about giving it to them. Please choose what works best for you and study up on it. Also did you know that 4 cloves of garlic is like one adult dose of penicillin! Ryan is allergic to penicillin and quite possibly some of the kids (although I wouldn't know for sure, most of them have never had an antibiotic) but they are not allergic to garlic. I hope that this recipe can bless your family as much as it has mine.
1-4 Tablespoons of Honey
1/8-1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Stir ingredients all together in a small bowl. Take about 1/2 a teaspoon every half hour or as desired. For sore throats be sure to let the mixture sit for a few minutes on the back of the throat, do not wash down with liquid. The Cayenne helps bring blood to the area for healing the garlic helps heal quickly and the honey holds it all together and also contains healing properties when raw.

this works like a charm! Too bad most of my friends don't believe me and won't try it.

I am so thankful for this post! My daughter recently had the thick sounding voice and the puss. I looked on line for natural cure and what I saw was natural cures relieve symptoms but you needed penicillin to cure it.
We called up my Dad who is an M.D. to send us in a prescription but meanwhile we noticed she was getting better with what I was doing with Echinasia goldenseal and lobelia for pain that I'd learned about from your post on herbs. She kept getting better so we didn't use the penicillin!
I am especially glad you posted this so I can do this simple treatment next time a sore throat comes along and nip it right in the bud right away!
Quesion: I bought some yarrow flowers from Mountain Rose like you suggested from your food storage ebook and was wondering if you make tea for treatment, how much flower, and or do you make tinctures. How do you make a tincture?
My husband made me a tea last night that was so strong it tasted poison, haha j/k I wonder if I could bottle it for a tincture, but how do I know how much to use?
Emily: Yarrow can be pretty strong. I have always used it as a tub soak or mixed in a tincture type form. I love the combination of elderberry extract with peppermint and yarrow. I want to do a post soon about making your own tinctures and extracts it's so easy and saves lots of money.
Ewww, looking forward to it. I really appreciate all I've learned/been inspired/changed from your posts. Thanks Tammie!
What ailments would warrant a yarrow tub sit. Also, good to know 4 garlic cloves equivalent to penicillin, plus all else it does!
Emily: The only time I have used yarrow in a tub is when the kids had a fever. I'm also sure to give them lots of liquids while in the tub. Yarrow is a diuretic which helps them to sweat, which helps break the fever.
I used this for myself today when I woke up with that "I'm getting sick" sore throat. I no longer feel like I'm coming down with something, although I have been battling heartburn all day because of it! (That's OK, I'd rather have heartburn than get sick any day!)
I can say that this works fabulously!!! When I was dealing with a strep throat it nipped it in the butt within 24 hours...the antibiotics didn't even do that! Thanks Tammie for sharing more of your natural remedies. I do have one question. My daughter (six years old) has had ear infections (in both ears) along with fighting strep throat at the same time five times in the last 6 months. What do you recommend? I've tried Mullein oil and X-Ceptic in the ear and even the hot honey for the strep but nothing seems to take care of it. She has even been on antibiotic 3 times with desperate attempt of trying to get rid of it. Any suggestions? We have cut back drastically on dairy in hopes that would help decrease mucus.
~Jes~
Jes: You can go to http://www.simplehealthytasty.com/2009/01/earache.html
and read all about my thoughts on earache. I would for sure cut out all junk food and dairy and give her plenty of garlic. It's amazing that antibiotics didn't take care of it so that tells me it's not bacterial. I'm not sure what else I would do except try to see if it was viral or maybe even fungal. If she is the in water swimming a lot you I might even consider something like swimmers ear and if that is the case it needs to be dried out. I found hydrogen peroxide worked for swimmers ear, but only you will know if that's a possibility because I have no idea if your daughter swims much or not. Just some thoughts sorry I'm not more help.
Thank you Tammie for getting back to me. I read your post and YES, you were VERY helpful. It makes me a little sick...after thinking about it...she did have swimmer's ear at the end of August and she was given medicine for that from the doctor's office...then she began to get double ear infections with strep throat...we done both Dr. Christopher's and antibiotics with no avail...perhaps she still had swimmer's ear?! Huh. Now, I've never personally used hydrogen peroxide in the ears. Do I just add a few drops and wait for it to dry on it's own or is there more to it? I'm truly grateful for all your advice...we've been struggling on this end with her health for many years now and it is nerve wracking. I'm slowly learning alternatives out there and it is refreshing and feels so natural. But in my lack of knowledge I feel like I'm guessing most of the time! Thank you again Tammie. It is much appreciated! <3
Jes: My son had swimmers ear this summer. I had never dealt with it before and thought he just had a ear infection, but when it didn't get better using the ear oil that has always worked before. And since he had been swimming a lot during that time I figured that's what it must be. It's more fungal kind of like a yeast infection in the ear so the oils and things keeping it damp just made it worse. We found that peroxide dropped in the hurting ear helped to keep it dry. We did also try some rubbing alcohol and vinegar because they are drying too. It's about getting it dry so the yeast will stop growing. Anyway he liked the peroxide best we just would let it bubble up. We also kept wind off his ears cause that for some reason hurts it and just tried to dry it out the with peroxide. I did also rub Tea Tree oil around the outside of his ear and down his neck. Tea Tree is very anti fungal. It took a few weeks of consistently doing it and him not going swimming but it did clear up. That's just my experience I hope you can find it helpful. Good luck! That sure doesn't sound fun.
BTW, capsules are a great way to take fresh garli! We crammed a bunch in a capsule, but you will want to take it right away since it melts the "antibiotics" without having the strong taste for hours!
We had the same thing with my little one with his ears and our nature path told us to put peroxide in his ears and wait for it to stop bubbling, let it drain out and then put two drops in of citricidal ear drop which has glycerine, tea tree oil, and grapefruit seed extract. And do it three times a day. In a fcew days it was gone, it worked for my moms swimmers ear too. Just Warm up the peroxide in a suringe in body temperature water or it will be very uncomfortable!
~Emily D
Quick question - My SIL is excited to try this for her family of 6 who keep giving each other strep...she's at her wit's end! Do you administer every half hour for 24 hours? Or just every half hour during waking hours? Thanks for the clarification!
Hizzeather: I never wake my kids to give them something. Sleep is the best medicine. If they wake up that's different but let sleeping children sleep. ;)
I have a really bad sore throat today so I came back to this post. Tammie, if you put all your home remedies and suggestions for herbs and how to make a tincture etc, the best basics to start with in buying herbs...in an ebook I'd buy it in a heart beat! :)
Emily: It's in the works, I'm just really slow and easily overwhelmed. Hopefully I can get it all together soon.
Boy do I know how easy it is to get overwhelmed! I am so happy to hear its in the works! :)
YAY! This post makes me so happy! I have been following your blog for awhile and today I ran across this post I will be passing along to my sister who called me late last night because her kiddos are coming down with strep and she did not want to do antibiotics.... thanks so much love your blog so much!
are you supposed to swallow this ?
breanna: You let it kind of sit on the back of your throat but yes you do end up swallowing it. It's food my kids love it and ask for it when they don't feel good especially if they have a sore throat.
Hi! I'm having my 4th bacterial tonsillitis (in the past 6months) and I decided not to go with antibiotics this time as it's obvious they are not a long term solution. I am trying your "Hot Honey" now and I really hope it will help me! You must have kids with super powers if they like hot honey and they ask for it themselves. I'm crying and kicking things around me as it burns me so much. I just finished with the 3rd spoon and I hate how time goes fast and just in a few minutes I will make myself have another spoon of hot honey and I really hope it wil help. How do you make your kids love it?
Thank you very much for your blog post :)
Andrea
Andrea: I custom make it for each child. Some of them like it really spicy! So I put the full amount of cayenne in, maybe more. Some of my kids can't stand spicy. So I put very little sometimes no cayenne in. Mostly I have found if throats are sore everyone like a little heat. I know what you mean though to have to take it really often is kind of like torture I don't enjoy it at all. When I had strep I couldn't take it only every few hours so it to me a couple of days to get over it instead of 24 hours but I just couldn't gag it down that often. I did have much bigger spoonfuls then my kids usually do though.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I've had a terrible sore throat for 3 days and I found this online and gave it a try. I've only had 4 doses and the pain is almost completly gone. This really does do the trick! :)
Thank you so much for posting this.
-A Very Grateful Mommy. :)
This REALLY works!! I was some what of a skeptic at first, but by the next day or two I was sore throat free!!! Thanks Tammie
I have a question. I did this for two days and my throat feels much better but I still see small white patches. Keep going? And do I just leave it out on the counter all day or refrigerate it? Is it ok to leave out overnight, or make a new batch for the next day? Not sure how long it lasts. Thank you!
Carolyn: I would keep going until it is all cleared up. I have left it out on the counter for a few days to a week as long as it is not too hot. It will keep longer in the fridge. I do think the more fresh it is the more potent it is.
Thank you Tammie. I see what I was doing wrong now. I wasn't letting it sit on the back of my throat first. Huge difference! It is working now. Thank you!!!
I don't have cayenne pepper, can I use chilli powder??
Hi! i have a question, can you use granulated garlic instead of the cloves? I'm really excited to try this because I've been through 3 days of a sore throat. Thank you!!
hello! I heard onion is similar to what garlic does, can i use a fresh onion instead of garlic cloves?
Alysonn: Onion and honey make a great cough syrup but if your dealing with strep I have found garlic the only way to go.
My usual remedy for a mild sore throat is salt water or vinegar gargle. Wasn't working at all this time--I think it's strep-- so I did a search and yours popped up. I don't know if it'll clear it up, but I've had one dose and already that searing pain in the back of my throat is much more mild and only really bothers me when I swallow or yawn. Considering all the things I've been trying, that's like magic!
Anonymous: You can try whatever you want but my experience has been that they cayenne and fresh cloves of garlic do the trick. They can be found at most any grocery store. Chili powder and granulated garlic could help but I'm guessing they won't work as well as what the recipe calls for.
Could I make more than one batch to like, fill a small jar to take with me as I travel? do you think it will still do the trick? Or do I have to mince 4 garlic at a time as i consume it?
MJ CG: I'm sure you could. I do think it keeps longer kept cold although I have left it out for a few days at room temperature without problems. Just don't let it get hot it will go bad fast that way.
How many days does it take to clear up completely while using hot honey?
raven downing: If you put in the full amount of garlic and can stand to take it every half hour I have seen it clear it up in 24 hours. (of course don't wake up to take it) Most of the time people don't like taking it that often so it takes 2 or three days. At least that's our experience.
Dpes this remedy work without the pepper? Thank you.
Anonymous: It's better than nothing without the cayenne pepper. But I have found it to be more effective with it. If you don't like it being too hot you can add less.
Ceyanne pepper pulls blood to the surface and speeds up the immune system. Garlic is a natural anti-biotic which fights the infection
Yep Josh is exactly right! Note that if you don't think you have any Cayenne it may be in your spice cupboard labeled as Red Pepper.
I was in agony this morning. My throat had white patches and the pain....terrible.
I happened upon this remedy and I am so grateful that I found this. I have been doing this since about noon today. It's 5:30 pm now and I am pain free. I will continue with the treatment but I think I'll do it every hour now unless I relapse.
I was planning to get a throat culture tomorrow but I really don't think I need to!!!!!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi there, I have a quick question,. Are you using raw honey and heating it up to make it a more liquid consistency or processed honey that's already in liquid form? I read about Dr. Christophers remedy but it used raw honey and said to chew the mixture and I know I won't be able to get my kid to chew a raw honey mixture! I'm going to start this a soon as my daughter wakes up, she started having symptoms last night and school starts in 4 days!
Thanks in advance....
Anonymous: I always use raw honey it's the only kind I have. ;) But you can warm it a bit to make it thinner if needed. I would try not to overheat it though because raw honey has additional healing properties.
If you don't have raw honey feel free to use what you have the honey is mainly for taste and something thick to kind of keep it in the throat. It's the garlic and cayenne that does the work in this recipe.
Thank you thankyou I can eat to with flinching. This worked for me instantly. I was in pain and starving for two days. Penicillin don't work fast enough. God bless you for sharing. ;)
I am doing this I am trying everything that I can I hate having strep throat and to top it off I have a fever and body aces also
So when I make this remedy and I let it sit on my throat, how long do I let it sit on my throat. Do I wash it down with water after like 30 sec etc??? Because I cant picture walking around with garlic chunks on the back of my throat!
Alex: Letting it kind of sit there just really helps but....yeah I never let it sit for very long. If the only way to be able to take it is to wash it down then it's still way better than not taking it.
I have a 2 year old with strep, he will not ever take medicines. He spits it out. I want to try something new but I'm pretty sure he wont take this. Is there a way I can mix this with a tea to hide it??
Brandy: I gave it to my toddlers. They didn't like it but I let them know it would make them better. But I know how hard it can be to reason with a 2 year old. You could try the tea maybe using less cayenne so it isn't as spicy may help too. GOOD LUCK!
I would be trying this right now but I know that my 4 year old will never let me put this in his mouth. ugh....I hate antibiotics.
Does this have to be heated?
Anonymous: No, I don't heat it. If your honey is hard you may want to warm it a bit.
Ok, Complete skeptic here UNTIL.... Went to Dr. yesterday, diagnosed with Strep throat. Antibiotics (amoxicillin. Took dose but wanted to try Tammi remedy... 45 minutes ago I did the cayenne pepper/honey but with a twist I opened a brand new bottle of Xango juice. (my daughter bought it and I never tried it before tonight). I must say.... My nose is running (too much cayenne, wink!) But here is the hard part for me to comprehend, my throat absolutely does not hurt as much as it did 1 hour ago. This is not a joke. It worked for me....so far. Thank you
I just made some of this, but it's really thick. I think I may have to chew it. How in the world did you guys drink it?
Deanna Ruth: We don't drink it. There have been times where I have had to kind of chew it.....ummm yeah I try to get it as far back in my throat as possible and try not to swallow until it's been there for a minute. Most of the time it's not there very long until I have to get a drink of water. But it still works!
It's good stuff.
I woke up today (thanksgiving, noooo) with a super sore throat. I have been using this for about 2 hours now, and my throat feels almost 100% better. Thank you so, so much!
How do you store it?
So do we drink it or not? Im confused? Sorry i know it may sound dumb.
Anonymous: Sorry to confuse you. I guess the simple answer is. Yes ultimately it is swallowed.
Anonymous: Store it? You could probably keep it in the fridge for maybe a week. I usually just make enough to last a day or two and keep it on the counter in a cup. ;)
Does this help a sore throat from just the common cold? I'm pretty sure I don't have strep, but I do have a nasty sore throat with nasal congestion.
Anonymous: My experience has been that this helps with about any kind of sore throat. I think it also helps shorten a cold!
Does it have to be cayenne pepper? I don't want to get ready to go to the store as I have everything but the cayenne! Do you think red chili pepper will work?
Dana: Red Chili Pepper typically is Cayenne and if not as long as it is pretty spicy it should do the trick.
How much of the recipe should I take? All of it or what? Will it burn your stomach if you take too much of it? Thank you for sharing this!!
Anonymous: I take about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon at a time every half hour to an hour so you will use it all up. But NO I would not take it all at once. And yes if you have very much cayenne it could potential cause a bit of a burn if you are not used to it. I don't notice any problem but I am used to it.
I have found that if I overdo the cayenne some peppermint and/or ginger tea helps to quickly "cool" things off.
I probably have strep and the doctor's office isn't open on Sundays, so I was looking for remedies to get me through until tomorrow.
After reading all the comments, which are all so positive, I decided to give your recipe a try.
My experience has been less than ideal. :( After two hours I've become nauseous from the garlic. I will have to stop using it because of this, so I can't say whether it would have worked in the long run.
I am glad I tried it, though, because the cayenne really reduced the pain in my throat for a few minutes. I haven't eaten much because of the pain, so I will try a spicy dish to see if it helps me get some food down.
If you have any tips, I'd love to hear them. If not, thank you anyways!
Penni: I am sorry you have not had the best experience. I too was a little unsettled taking it and found I could only stand to take a little every few hours. It took a few days for me to get better but I got better and felt much relief after the first day. I also found drinking plenty of water and taking some ginger helped with the tummy trouble. Hope you feel better soon.
Yesterday I had thick white lines on the back of my throat and it was extremely painful to swallow. I ate this garlic blend every 30 min all day and today the white lines have faded significantly and my throat feels 10 times better! I even took before and after pictures and the difference in 1 day is amazing! I'm so thankful to have come across this remedy!
I'm so glad to have discovered this! After no sore throat relief using an antibiotic for 5 days, I tried this with my daughter today. She was religious about taking it every 30 minutes. She said it's 'actually pretty good!' This morning, her throat was COVERED with white patches. This evening, there were 2 tiny little dots left on each tonsil. The improvement is remarkable!!
I've used this twice today and my throat already feels ten times better. I can swallow easier now and I can finally eat something without wanting to cry. I love this and will definitely be using it from now on.
Hey Tammie I just found your blog and I wanted to say ty, I was wondering if you ever got that ebook completed and if so can I please get the link?!!! Thanks in advance!
Tina
Tina: There is a tab above on the menu bar that says Buy my ebooks click on it and you will see all my ebooks. My one on natural remedies is at the top and is called My Simple Healthy Life.
I just came across this and I'm gonna try it. I just came down with the symptoms of strep a couple days ago, it never fails when cold and flu season comes around you can be sure I'm getting strep, I get it every year! I'm really excited to see the outcome!
Hi Tammie--I have a pretty bad sore throat, with spots, etc. It was negative on the rapid strep test, but I'm pretty sure it's another strain. How many days did it take you to rid of strep when you had a bad case. I started this last night and committed to getting over this!
Katie: It only took about 2 days for me to start feeling better. But I took the hot honey as often as I could manage.
Is this remedy okay to take while breastfeeding? I don't want the cayenne to be too spicy for my little one
-marla
Marla: My opinion is that it would be better to take while breast feeding then medicine since it is just food. But some of my babies did have a hard time with spicy food and garlic others didn't seem to mind at all I think it just depends on the baby.
How can I make this easier on my stomach. It was fine sitting in my mouth, but once it hit my stomach I almost threw up.
Gina: I have found for me that taking smaller amounts at a time and having a little something in my stomach helps.
Thank you going to make thid. Had strep 2 weeks ago and its back worse than ever. Im over antibiotics because im nursing and it gave me thrush. Keep you posted
Hi, I am a nursing mom who came down with strep today. Little guy is only 2 months old and was 6 weeks early so he's pretty small still, was j/w your opinion on me taking this remedy while nursing? I'm thinking the cayenne might bother him a lot.
I think taking this is better than an antibiotic. But you are right the cayenne may bother him and garlic sometimes will give babies gas. If it were me I would still try it but I would just use very little cayenne and not take it as often. Then see how he handles it. But that's just me you know your baby best. A fussy baby sure won't help you feel better. Good luck hope you feel better soon.
Tammi,
My son just had strep. Yesterday I woke with fever/achy feeling. My throat wasn't really bothering me, but I gargle with cayenne water several times as a precaution. This morning I woke and fever was gone and I just had a mild feeling in my throat...white patch on tonsil. I used hot honey every half hour til 4pm. I also garled, used qtip to apply cayenne to spot and drank acv water. The spot almost looks likes it has gotten slightly bigger...hum. My friend told me to be careful of RF if strep is untreated, but I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa, so I hope this works if I continue. Do you do anything to clean toothbrushes every night, so you don't reinfect yourself?
I only had it the one time. It seems like I just got a new toothbrush. Also if it where me I would do salt water gargle and not use cayenne except in the hot honey. Cayenne can burn and inflame blisters. Lots of garlic is super helpful. Remember I am just sharing my experience. Use your own best judgement and talk to your health care provider if you are concerned.
I have a small white spot at the back of my throat. Is this mixture is suitable for that white spot and do we need to chew this mixture?
Avneet
I found it helped white spots on my throat. I would try to let it just sit on the back of my throat keeping it in my mouth as long as possible before swallowing. Chewing sometimes if needed.
Tammie, i forgot to mention that white spot os actually contains pus. So for that pus spot is this treatment is fine or is there is any othe treatment for that pus spot?
Obviously I'm not a doctor but usually white spots are white because they contain pus. If it were me I would give it a try it could cause stinging if it is an open sore but should still promote healing. For sure if you are concerned see your health care professional. If it's just an infected sore and there isn't and sore throat along with it maybe just a bit of lavender or something put on it would help.
Hi, so I have used tea and honey for a few years now and this sore throat isn't going away. I came across this and want to try it. However, I have a very sensitive stomach and get stomach aches often. I am worried that the cayenne and garlic could off set my stomach. Any advice? Thanks so much.
If I take too much too often my stomach will get upset I found for me having something to eat and/or drink helps and for sure just not having as much as often. Obviously everyone is different so you need to do what works best for you.
Thank you.
I sweat a lot from the cayenne not sure if that is good or not but i used hot honey last night when i woke up intermentently and it seems to be doing the job. Always heard garlic had healing properties who knew it was so effective. I want your ebook. What is funny is that a few years ago as a medical student i would have thought all this was nonsense.
I've had strep just about every year for as long as I can remember. It was killing me last night but wasn't going to take antibiotics just ride it out as I'm exclusively breastfeeding my 3 month old and don't want to expose him to meds thru breastmilk. I found this and and thought "couldn't hurt" if already been doing salt water gargle, ACV gargle, hot lemon water ect. with no real relief. I did 4 cloves of garlic and teaspoon of cayenne last mashed together (didn't have any honey) and chewed and swallowed it slowly to sit on my throat. No going to lie I gagged and almost didn't keep it down. It probably would have been better with the honey but it was 4am, now at 8:45am and my throat feels 100% better I.AM.SHOCKED!!!! Seriously 10+ strep throat infections in my life and NEVER gotten over it with out antibiotics or even in 24hrs. Thank you so so so much I can't begin to tell you how happy I am right now. My son and I both got some much needed sleep. Let's hope the garlic doesn't change the taste of my breast milk too much hahaha ;) -Jenn and my lil man Atlas Denham
My kids aren't picky but think it smells gross and won't try it because of the garlic. How'd you get your kids to try it??
I use a bit less garlic and cayenne for the kids who are hesitant to try it. Also putting just a little on a spoon and letting them lick it like a sucker helps them see that it's pretty sweet and not too bad.
I really love and appreciate this. My little girl and I have recently acquired strep once again, and I just couldn't bring myself to take us to the doc just to take antibiotics again. However, I have a very hard time getting her to take it. Is there anything that is pleasant and not so strong tasting for little ones? She is 4 years old. Thank you.
Jennifer: When my kids were little I used less garlic and cayenne but they are really the power houses of it all. I also used what we call garlic feet (just search it on this blog) but really this worked best for our throat issues cause it's right on the throat. My kids also loved elderberry syrup and it helps but like I said the garlic is doing most of the work. I have found we love the essential oil blend from be young spice of life (like thieves or on guard of more popular brands) it has some good punch too it's a little spicy but mainly has a cinnamon flavor. Adding it to raw honey would probably be super tasty. Just a few ideas good luck I know it can be tricky with younger children.
Thanks for the recipe! I’ve had a sore throat for a week and went to the Doctors. The test results haven’t come back yet but in the meantime, I’ll try this. QUESTION: How should I store this after making?
Since it only takes a day or two I just keep it on the counter in a paper cup or small glass food storage container (think jelly jar). If your house is very warm or you want it to keep longer you can put it in the fridge.
Tammie thank you for this recipe I've had a sore throat for a couple days now and today it looks to be strep throat. I've been trying all kinds of home remedy's it's not getting any better. Im looking forward to trying your remedy. Im desperate and don't want to go to the doctors. When you say let it sit in the back of your throat what do you mean? Do you mean after you have already swallowed it let the rest sit for a few minutes before you drink anything or eat anything or do you mean let it sit there for a few minutes before you swallow it? Thank you.
Jen: YES that's exactly what I mean!
