Another new favorite at our house! We love trying new things and this is super yummy! The Falafel is good on it's own or with any toppings you like in a sandwich or flatbread style! Enjoy!
1 large onion chopped
6 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon Real Salt or to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon coriander
4 Tablespoons Flour (Can use whole wheat flour, or rice flour for gluten free)
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped or 2 Tablespoons dry
1 teaspoon baking soda
Puree cooked beans in blender or food processor, if you need to add a little water you can one teaspoon at a time be sure to not make to moist you want the pureed beans almost crumbly. Place mashed beans in a large bowl and add the rest of ingredients and mix well. Warm up about 1/2 inch of coconut oil in a frying pan. Roll mixture into golf ball size balls and slightly flatten. If you want more like patties you can flatten them more. Place in oil cook until brown on the bottom then flip to fry other side.

Hummus or Cheezy Sauce to spread on bread
Other optional toppings of choice:
Romain Lettuce
Sprouts (any kind or multiple kinds)
Sliced Tomato
Sliced Cucumber
Sliced Onion
Sliced Avocado
Ranch Dressing
Take bread recipe and made the dough. Separate the dough into 8-12 pieces (depending on the size of flatbread you want) and roll into a 8 inch circle 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Place flat bread on a warm griddle or in a frying pan, let brown on the bottom then flip and cook until browned on the other side and cooked clear through. On the cooked flatbread spread Cheezy Sauce or Hummus add three cooked Falafels and other toppings of choice. Fold in half and eat! Super filling and very Tasty!

It looks wonderful Costco sells a terrific and healthy hummus with only olive oil no other oils it is the roasted red pepper kind. Anyways I was going to try and make your seasoned almonds and granola bars what if you don't have a dehydrator any suggestions?
The lowest setting in your oven with maybe the door open a tiny bit should do the trick.

This looks delicious! I just sent your series with "I promised I'd share more and some herbal references, to my sister, she has had a baby with a cleft palate who seems to be in digestive pain, swallowing pain, etc. I recommended ear drops garlic mullein and sent your link on ear aches, as ear stuff seems to be a huge part of cleft pallates, and sent her the Kid E well links hoping one of those tonics might be a help. She is getting depressed with about 4 months now of lots of crying. She had a surgery that has helped the actual breathing, but she won't swallow the milk and so has to stay on the tube, and also seems to have reflux or other tummy and bowel problems. Poor things, mother and baby! I encouraged her that the holy spirit will guide her, but I know that in a stressful situation its so hard to take in very much so I just pray she'll be given capacity to search out truth and answers, which can be tricky when it may just be that some major life styles might have to change. (She's breast feeding, and what if she needs to go off milk)? If you have some thoughts, please share. Have a great day, Emily B.
Emily: My heart goes out to your sister. I do think that any sinus related issue are best helped by getting rid of dairy. But at the same time if a mother is strung out and highly stressed and getting rid of dairy would take a major lifestyle shift maybe it's not the best time for such a drastic change. Maybe just trying to limit it and finding good things in it's place. It may just seem like one more thing to her right now that she may not believe will even help. It can be so hard to watch people you love suffer especially when you feel you have tools that may help. I guess my thoughts are to love and support her as best you can but understand that sometimes certain things open people up for change and sometimes it just becomes one more thing to be overwhelmed about.
Emily, what a challenge for you and your sister, as well as the whole family! I don't have lots to add, except to make sure that she hooks up with her Early Intervention services. I'm an early childhood special educator and work with babies from birth with all kinds of special needs - the services are at no charge, no matter what state you are in, and a speech language pathologist can help with feeding issues related to cleft palate at home, so it's not one more trip to the doctor or clinic, etc. If you're interested, I can find out what the early intervention (often called Part C) office in your area is and pass that information along. Also, sometimes counseling can be of use...I'm also one of our early childhood mental health specialists, and one thing that is often forgotten in the stress of a new baby with special needs is that even though you love your new baby, even for who she is with all her challenges, you still literally grieve the loss of the child you expected and planned to have and have lost, much as if your baby has died. We all grieve that loss, and the stresses of taking care of the unexpected can make it all harder...for some, family and friends will do - others need a chance to really work through the process with more help...doesn't mean you don't love who you have, just that life is different than you expected it to be in such a big way. If you want information, just a state is enough - I can find out and post from there! May you all be blessed with the peace of the Spirit and direction and ability to discern that you all need to support and love mom and dad, other family members, and precious baby!
Oh - I actually came on here to say that we made these falafel for dinner tonight - yummm! Even my daughter, who wasn't enthralled by the idea said, "Mom, I'm totally taking these leftovers to school for lunch tomorrow!" I guess that's a definite pass, and every last one of them said "it's a do over", which hardly ever happens!
