Oven Fries

I thought I would show you how to make Oven Fries!  They are easy to make and since potatoes are cheap and filling they can be a money saving way to stretch a meal!   Because they are Baked French Fries you can also feel good about feeding them to your kids cause well....Surprise, surprise, they are Healthy!  Here's how we make them in pictures!




















Wash potatoes and cut into desired fry size slices and/or wedges. 


We have a cool crinkle cutter but a knife works too!

Place them into a large bowl and lightly coat with olive or coconut oil!  (coconut oil is does better at higher temperatures)  I then season to taste with Salt, Pepper, and Mexican or Italian Seasoning.

Place the fries on baking sheets if you like them nice and crispy don't have them touching each other.  I try to just have them in a single layer.  Then Bake at 425-450 degrees (a higher temperature makes a crispier fry).  Turn every ten minutes bake for about 30-40 minutes or until done the way you like them!

When they are done, I pile them all onto one pan or serving platter and sprinkle with a little more salt.  Again these make a great side dish to help fill up kid's bellies or once in a while we do Chili Cheese Fries and make them the main dish!  Enjoy!

  1. We love oven fries! I have never made them with coconut oil. Do you just use refined coconut oil since you cook it at a high temperature?

    Where in the world did you get that cool crinkle cutter? I want one!

  2. Jen: I use the extra virgin coconut oil because that is what I have but yes since it is being heated you could use the refined. I got the crinkle cutter back in my Pampered Chef days. I think most kitchen stores sell them. I love my Pampered Chef one though it's rounded so it rocks makes for easier fast cutting I also love it for mincing fresh herbs.
