Just Like Mom's Homemade Ranch Dressing
1 cup of Sunflower Seed Sour Cream (recipe below, Note: This can be left out if you are in a hurry or just want it more simple! It's not quite as rich, thick, and creamy, but still really good)
1 cup Vegenaise
3 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (more if you like it really tangy)
1 Tablespoon Parsley
Chives (optional)
Dill (optional)
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/3 teaspoon garlic granules
salt & pepper to taste I usually use about 1/4 teaspoon of each
Mix all ingredients until nice and smooth. It will be dip like consistency and great for carrot sticks etc. To make more dressing like consistency add some water or rice milk. Also it will thicken a bit in the fridge so keep that in mind.
MMMmmmMMMmmm, CREAMY, & Delicious
Sunflower Seed Sour Cream
1 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup water
4+ Tablespoons lemon juice
1 garlic clove pressed or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
3/4 teaspoon salt

I have tried the sour cream recipe and it isn't that thick. Does it thicken in the fridge and then serve it? Your sunflower seeds, do you soak them?
No I do not soak the sunflower seeds first. They are just raw NOT roasted and salted;) and I put them in the blender. And yes it does thicken in the fridge. Be sure to blend it till it is nice and smooth. I should be about the consistancy of a runny milk shake before you put it in the fridge and thick dip after it has chilled. Hope that helps! ENJOY!
Tam,
I would not consider myself a healthy cook -- by any stretch of the imagination -- but I just made this recipe, and it is YUMMY!!! I can't wait to serve it to my kids!
Thanks for all these recipes - I can't wait to try them all! And, hopefully, one day I will be a healthy cook!

I made this sourcream to dip our artichokes in. The boys had some kids over and I gave them nachos to dip in it. They were very happy!
I also used sprouted and dehydrated sunflower seeds to make the sourcream. :)
Wow, Permission to Mother, you are awesome to have done all that for your seeds, you go!
We tried this on baked potatoes, and I was so pleased that my hubby liked it, and I thought it was scrumptious!
We haven't an income right now, so I didn't have access to raw seeds so I will be more healthy about it later, but yes it was yum yum!
Its thin but in the fridge now to thicken. Mercy its great! Thank you!
Do you use fresh or dried parsley for this?
paws: I use dried, but you could use either.
How long does this dressing last in the fridge. And where do you get vegenaise and what is that made out of?
Chrissy: I'd say it keeps about a week. I get Vegenaise at the health food store or through Azure Standard. I comes in different kinds, some made out of grapeseed oil, pea protein and others.
